CORENA to supply Amos Shipdex Suite for Cargotec

13 December 2010

Several ship-owners have required that all technical documentation for new buildings should be Shipdex compliant. Shipdex™ (Ship Data Exchange) is the international business rules, based on S1000D, developed to standardize the exchange of electronic technical data within the shipping community. Cargotec is one of the founder members of the Shipdex protocol initiative and is now implementing Amos Shipdex Suite developed by CORENA to deliver Shipdex compliant documentation to their RoRo customers.

Our vision is to provide correct, easy-to-understand and user-friendly manuals, service information and spare part catalogues in Shipdex format”, says Katarina Munter, Manager for RoRo Technical Documentation Services in Cargotec. “We have chosen Amos Shipdex Suite to support us in this effort”, she continues.

Our Agreement with Cargotec again proves the suitability of Shipdex and S1000D in industries with long product life cycles and with differentiated information update. Cargotec has been a major driver in the Shipdex community and we are happy that Cargotec selected our solution”, says Toralf Johannessen, president and CEO for CORENA.

The Shipdex™ Protocol is the International Business Rules developed to standardize the production and the exchange of technical and logistic data within the shipping community.
