CORENA releases CORENA S1000D Version 5.8

CORENA today announced the commercial availability of its CORENA S1000D Version 5.8, one month after the CSDB software was pre-released into production at selected customer sites.

“CORENA S1000D Version 5.8 provides a number of new features that improve  quality, productivity and ease of use for our customers. This release further strengthens CORENA’s position as the best of breed software for managing mission-critical S1000D documentation and providing robust production capabilities” says Toralf Johannessen, President and CEO, CORENA.

Some of the new capabilities included in CORENA S1000D Version 5.8 are:

  • Publishing support for Issue 4.0 (Publications Module Content Editor and Delivery Suite)
  • A live-linking Generic Pool feature that supports the S1000D Issue 4.0 TIR (Technical Information Repository) and makes it easy to insert pool entries and validate them on check-in
  • Hotspot extraction when CGMs are inserted into the authoring tool (includes hotspot referencing and auto ID numbering on figure, graphic and hotspot)
  • Web application for import of S1000D Transfer Packages, including validation and import reports
  • WebServices API that facilitates Change Requests and Generic Pool/TIR integration with external applications such as SAP, enabling them to retrieve or post objects to the CSDB
  • Support for Multiple ICNs (Information Control Numbers) in IPD Data

  • IBM WebSphere version 7.0 (preferred) and 6.1 support in addition to Oracle
  • WebLogic Server 10.3. (Note that the Application Servers and CORENA PAGE are supported on both Windows and Linux operating systems)
  • Synchronization with LDAP - Sun ONE
  • Other significant performance and usability improvements
