BAE Systems first to deploy CORENA S1000D in the UK

BAE Systems has become the first aircraft organisation in the UK to deploy the CORENA S1000D technical publications suite, allowing it to provide major commercial aircraft manufacturers with tailored solutions for their technical publications requirements.

S1000D is an internationally recognised specification for the procurement and production of technical publications. Originally developed for the military market, it is now used by several major commercial aircraft manufacturers. BAE Systems’ acquisition of the CORENA software gives the Company the capability to produce S1000D-compliant technical publications in a range of flexible modern formats.

The use of CORENA software complements BAE Systems’ ability to offer complete aircraft design and engineering capabilities from concept through to in-service support as one of the few organisations in Europe to offer a true through life cycle support solution.

The CORENA S1000D publishing suite offers key functions such as managing, authoring, viewing, publishing and delivery of S1000D Data Modules. CORENA S1000D CSDB software provides pre-configured data module sets allowing authoring of all versions of S1000D.

This fully integrated solution allows rules created by project managers to be effectively and automatically carried out from start-up through authoring to final delivery. Precise control of publications allows delivery in formats from electronic data exchange of data modules, PDF and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals.

BAE Systems has many decades of experience in the global aviation marketplace, and currently provides technical publications to more than 160 customers in 80 countries.

Having a strong understanding of both Air Transport Association (ATA) and S1000D documentation standards, BAE Systems is able to offer solutions ranging from the conversion of ATA documentation to S1000D electronic format.
