Moving to S1000D often involves conversion of legacy data, and this is an area where CORENA can provide the experience and resources to help customers reach their goals. Our in-depth knowledge of the S1000D specification combined with years of experience in the field of legacy data conversion puts CORENA in a unique position to handle this kind of task.
Just recently CORENA has worked with Danish Defense to convert their Army and Navy archives.
After a successful data conversion of legacy data for the “Army drawing archive” into their Interactive Electronic Technical Documentation System (IETDS), CORENA has now completed a similar process of converting legacy “Navy drawing data” into IETDS.
The conversion kept the source data in its original format with conversion only of the metadata which was mapped into “Doc Records” in IETDS. The “Doc Record” itself controls a single or numerous files/documents. The file content can be of multiple formats.
IETDS holds all technical documentation for all material systems for all services at Danish Defense. The solution is comprised of several CORENA products using the CORENA S1000D Common Source Data Base as the foundation for web client solutions for all end-users. Also IETDS is being integrated with Danish Defense’s SAP based DeMARS system and will ensure full accessibility from, and interoperability with, important logistic disciplines related to maintenance and operation.
20,000 users within Danish Defense have access to IETDS.
